In period from January till February 2019 dock repair of dredger hopper (floating excavator) MP-26 was carried out: repair of hull, blasting and painting. Complementary to dock works the Yard carried out repair of spuds. The work described above is rather complicated as spuds have got considerable dimensions and weight herewith they must be of precise dimensions with the smallest possible deviations. The length of spud is almost 32 m (as high as 9-store building), and the weight is 52 ton. During spud repair the high strength steel was used that is not typical for ship repair - 30 mm thick. Engineers of our technical department have developed the repair procedure, and the welding department has calculated welding conditions with account of strains and deformations making allowance for real conditions and environment. Welding has been carried out precisely in accordance with procedure using imported flux-cored wire in Ar+CO2. All works were carried out under Customer's technical supervision and QD permanent monitoring using modern measuring equipment. Works were carried out to the highest standard and in due time.


January 2019  – Repair of m/v «Wikanda Naree». Dry Docking and emergency repair of fore peak steel constructions. All works were finished in short time and according to Technical requirements, presented to Owner and Surveyor Representatives. 


In period from November - December 2018 dock repairs of m/v «Tanais Flyer» were carried out. Hull, hatch covers and cargo holds cleaning and painting were performed (inner side - total area 18100 m2). Rudder and tailashaft were repaired. Repair of cargo cranes ropes was carried out, as well as winches and sheaves inspection. Gas free inspection of all fuel tanks was carried out with subsequent steam heating pipeline testing. Steelwork was repaired in scope of 10 ton. Partial repair of main engine was carried out. Repair of different pumps and electric motors was carried out - more than 10 pcs. Pipeline systems were repaired in scope of 150 rm. Despite of unfavourable weather conditions all works were carried out in agreed term and submitted to the Owner and Class.

December 2018  – Repair of f/c « JinHangJun 407». Dry Docking cleaning and painting of Hull, superstructure, deck equipment, cargo crane. Removal ashore of Steel supporting piles, inspection, preparation of Inspection report, repair of piles according to inspection report. Hull thickness measurement, preparation of technical documentation and repair accordingly. Repair of Engine Room equipment according to repair specification.


In November 2018  - emergency repair of m/v "Volgodon 211" was carried out. Within the shortest possible time propeller shaft was renewed with alignment of propeller and coupling with intermediate shaft. The works on small maintenance of hull constructions, ER machinery and pipelines were carried out as well.


October-November 2018  – Repair of m/v «POMORZE». Grit blasting, painting of Hull, Cargo Holds, Hatch Covers (inside part), Cargo Cranes – total 19500 m2. Measurement of rudder and tail-shaft clearances. Renewal if Cargo Crane wire ropes, inspection of winches, sheaves, repair of Grabs. After travel test of hatch covers partial repair of sealing rubber. According to presented by Owner project ballast water treatment system PureBallast by Alfa Laval Company was installed. All works were finished according to project, presented to Crew, Alfa Laval inspector and tested in operation. Repair of mechanical and electric equipment were made in Engine Room according to repair specification.


Intermediate and dock repairs of tug "Kuttabul" took place 3 October - 21 November 2018 in the ISRY premises. 

During the repair, almost the entire hull area of the tugboat, including the underwater part, topside with a bulwark, decks, accommodation and even the mast were cleaned and painted in corporate colour scheme of "P & O Maritime Ukraine" company. Painting works were carried out with the compliance of painting procedure and the requirements of the Superintendent and the vessel, as well as the technical representative of the paint supplier.

Upon arrival of the tug to the ISRY premises, Owner claimed about damage of blades

CPP propeller, rudder propeller PS.

After docking of tug, the blades of both rudder propellers were cleaned and ground, dye penetrant test was performed in order to identify possible hidden defects and cracks on the propeller blades.

SY process engineers developed technical specification that enables to carry out repair of three propellers blades damages PS in situ, without removal and transportation to workshop that resulted in propeller repair period reduction.

With purpose of compliance with environmental conditions for this work: blades heating, straightening of bent edges, build-up above rudder propeller PS - temporary shelter was installed on the dock floor. Blades repair was successfully carried out and submitted to the quality department of SY, Owner and Class Surveyor.

As per request of the Owner only clearance measurements of rudder propeller reduction gears were taken.

As well during docking period of the tug, bottom and transverse valves were complete over holed and repaired.

The most interesting and implemented works performed by ISRY during this repair are re-equipment for the assignment to the tugboat of “Ice 2” category with the installation of intermediate frames and the modernization of the ME cooling system, which allows full manoeuvring in brash ice and broken ice using water from two ballast tanks in a closed loop for ME cooling.

To carry out the above stated works, the significant package of related works on removal and restoration of insulation in accommodation and ER were required, as well as gas free inspection of fuel tanks.

The entire package of works was carried out by the SY within the contract terms, works were submitted to QD of the yard, Owner and Class surveyor without any remarks.


October 2018  – Repair of m/v «Greifswald». Grit blasting, painting of Hull  – total 10750 m2. Rudder and tail shaft clearances inspection, report preparation. Cleaning, gas freeing of fuel tank for Surveyor inspection. Repair of different systems pipelines – 320 rm. Overhauling of Engine Room equipment according to repair specification. Inspection and repair of open decks equipment and light steel. 


From 12.09.2018 till 05.10.2018 - dry dock repairs of m/v “Lavr” was carried out.

Cleaning and painting of ship's hull, cargo spaces was performed, with total area - 7 000 m2. Repair of bottom and transverse valves of different ship's systems was carried out, disassembly/reassembly of rudder and tailshaft, grinding and dye penetration test of propeller, removal/refit of propeller shaft, check of shaft run-out on a machine in workshop, machining of bushes and repair of Simplex seals was carried out. 

Significant scope of cargo hold hatch covers repairs with removal of all sections and movable bulkheads was carried out, with repairs of rubber retaining constructions of movable bulkheads, repair of packing rubber of hatch covers, repair and and position alignment of compression bars, shifting pads, straightening of steel work elements, hatch covers kinematics to ensure hatch covers smooth operation.

During docking period significant scope of hull shell plating and inner side repair was carried out with repair, straightening and build-up. To improve strength properties of ship in accordance with project provided by the Owner, reinforcement plates were installed from the both sides of ship on the main deck i.w.o. joint between cargo spaces and accommodation.

As part of the machinery, repairs of ship's pumps and their electric motors were carried out, repair of windlass with complete disassembly and repair of slide bearings, and machining of working shaft journals, as well as repair of heat exchangers of ship's systems.

September 2018 – Repair of m/v «TATRY». Grit blasting, painting of Hull according to Paint Specification 15200m2 . Measurement of tail shaft and rudder clearances. Light steel repair on Main Deck according to shipyard inspection report. Repair of different systems pipelines. Panama modernization of vessel, installation of new equipment, welding of reinforcements according to technical documentation. Overhauling of electric motors and other equipment in engine room according to specification. Cleaning and gas free of fuel tanks for inspection 814 m3.
